Ah yes, the usual "cherry-picking" argument. Do you know that your challenges and hair-splitting here are nothing more than you attempting to defend your faith? You call it a lack of wisdom, but it seems to me that a wise person would acknowledge the contradictions and depictions in the Bible that don't fit their faith.

For instance, how do you resolve God being depicted as "jealous" and severe in the Old Testament, punishing his followers for not worshiping him exclusively, and believers being called upon to love and fear him in the same moment? These are the attributes of an abusive parent, and the behavior of the ancient Hebrews is consistent with that of an abused child.

Bad things befall them, they assume it was because they did something to deserve punishment, and then resolve to hate sin and deviation from the "true faith" even more.

And yet, we get another interpretation entirely by the New Testament, where God is now a loving, forgiving, accepting soul. And instead of bad tidings being "God's punishment," we're told that suffering is the fault of humanity - once again, the self-blaming attitude of the victim.

This is not wisdom, it's child-like logic. It's time for people to outgrow ancient moral codes and deities that insist they remain ignorant, underdeveloped, and beholden to institutions that are entirely discredited.
