Allowing Ukraine to use gifted weapons to strike targets in Russia does not mean NATO is automatically at war with Russia. You're only assuming that because Putin keeps making the nuclear bluff, saying he will retaliate against anyone who assists Ukraine in doing so.
He's been making that threat for the past three years, and it's never worked. Even as Ukrainian forces are invading Russia, taking Kursk and Belgorod, and are hitting Russian refineries and ammo depots deep inside Russia. Putin's response was to freeze and not act, then go back to his pattern of threats and bluffs.
NATO has only ever "escalated" its commitment to Ukraine while still behaving timidly. Meanwhile, Russia has been escalating the war non-stop since they were routed at Kyiv. And you have been overestimating and championing Russia in all that time. Who do you think you're fooling?
