//Are you certain what you're doing is actually calling out people who are reacting in an unfortunate way when the world doesn't conform to their particular ideology? Instead of calling out those who you view as traitors to your tribe?//

Honestly, no. But I am related what I've seen and frankly, I don't see this as "betrayal" at all. I see it as inconsistency and idiocy that defies rational explanation.

//In every case--Musk, Greenwald, Snowden, Assange--//

Yes, and they re-aligned because they seemed to think that the alt-right was correct because their biases conformed. Only Musk became "disillusioned" to the best of my knowledge, and it had nothing to do with values and everything to do with him feeling persecuted.

In the case of Assange and Greenwald, they have a long history of being pro-Putin because it agrees with their anti-establishment views of the U.S.

//Explaining this as people on the far left fighting the last war seems a poor explanation indeed, and saying that they sound like the alt-right also isn't very accurate. Is Snowden saying to ban books? Was Greenwald a cheerleader for Bolsonaro? Does Musk want to block all immigration to the United States and establish a white ethnostate?//

It's absolutely accurate since they are championing the same things and speaking the same talking points. And no, they aren't saying the same thing on all issues, but on the issue of Russia, the Ukraine war, Trump, and American politics, they are perfectly aligned. It sounds to me like you're trying to water this down because you are offended, which I entirely predicted with this article.

//Were "far-leftists" really flocking in droves to Trump?//

Another case of watering down. I never said leftists were flocking to Trump, I said they were defending him and repeating the same tired tropes as alt-righters. Claiming that Berkeley didn't vote for him is a pretty tiny example.

And yes, I am entirely sure that I'm speaking about the far-left. You're extremely limited examples do not establish that something else is going on. If anything, it seems to me you feel personally challenged here and are being defensive about it.

That's not surprising at all, I knew this article would get such reactions. And if it doesn't jive with your beliefs or your experience, all I can say is, it does with mine. Sorry you don't like it, but it doesn't make it untrue - not that my experience makes it true, it's simply my experience.
