It’s simple, really. Scott has consistently blamed Ukraine for the fact that it’s been invaded, deflected responsibility onto NATO and the U.S. for Putin’s decision to invade, categorically ignored Putin’s war crimes, keeps claiming Russia is winning, and demanding Ukraine make concessions and reward him.
Ordinarily, he tries to cloak these points behind a thin veil of “I’m a pacifist and want peace.” But he always lets his real opinions, which are a total reiteration of Russias case for war slip - I.e., Zelensky is bad, Ukraine is run by Nazis, Russia was provoked, Russia is the victim, it’s them or it’s us.
Your “whatabout” examples notwithstanding, I maintain these are morally and intellectually bankrupt arguments and a verbatim repeat of what Moscow has been peddling to justify its actions. Disagree if you will but there’s hardly any ambiguity here.
