The only one claiming Ukrainians were committing genocide was Moscow, which was funding a separatist war and using Wagner to commit atrocities, which they blamed on Ukraine. That’s right up there with “we were provoked by NATO,” Euromaiden was a CIA-backed “coup,” and “Ukraine is run by Nazis”

And if this was all about the Donbas, why send a massive military onslaught to take Kyiv and reinstall Yanukovych? There was nothing favourable about the peace Moscow was demanding, it involved allowing millions of Ukrainians to remain under Russian rule and to permit an actual genocide by Putin’s Russification.
