Right??? The hard right loves to deflect with "anti-Semitism" whenever they preach hatred of Muslims and Brown people from the continent. And it's always been a joke, the pretense of "supporting Israel" from the political right. They were the ones who decided to support Zionism in 1917, NOT because they believed Jews should have a homeland in Mandatory Palestine, but because they believed that Jews had tremendous influence in the U.S. government and controlled the strings of international finance.

They supported the Case for Israel after WWII, NOT because they wanted the refugees to have a homeland where they'd be safe, but because, to them, it was "better there than here." The U.S. was precisely the same and so was Canada! The same reasoning was why both countries refused to acknowledge the Holocaust or do anything about it.

Today, the motivation is the same: "Don't piss off Israel because we believe Jewish people will destroy our government politically and financially."
