She was also a terrible writer and brutally unoriginal. Her story Anthem was practically a carbon copy of Yevgeny Zamyatin's We. Atlas Shrugged was a whiny rich person diatribe, write large (very large and overlong).

I disagree with the characterization of Nietzsche though. The perception that his philosophy was negative is based on how it was presented after his death by his highly-elitist ultra-nationalist and anti-Semitic sister, whom he disowned.

That's what I have read, at any rate, and it opens an entirely new reading of his work.
