Sorry, Deb. I was genuinely trying to be polite while also delivering the news that what you were saying was a lie. First of all, your source is RT, a Russian state-owned media chain. Of course they are going to make such claims to back up their leader.

And yes, he did declare shit. He made the first statement on Feb. 21st, when he ordered Russian troops into the Luhansk and Donetz regions:

He further declared that the agreement was "no longer existed" on Feb 23rd on the eve of the invasion:

These are not opinions, these are things that happened, but which you clearly don't know about. Also, these regions did not "decide" anything. Putin annexed Crimea, held a rigged referendum, and financed civil war in the separatist regions. This is precisely what he did in the Donbas areas that were invaded, where soldiers forced local residents to sign referendums to join Russia.

Sorry, Deb, but you're mistaking Russian propaganda as truth and opinion as fact. Hence what I mean by "ass-backward." Call that disingenuous if you want, but judging from what you write about, I feel like you're someone who is capable of rising above petty propaganda and seeing the reality of things for yourself.
