Thank you! Not only are the people citing this argument just repeating what Putin has been saying (without question or critical thinking), they are completely ignoring how NATO went out of its way to accommodate Russia through the NATO-Russia Council (NRC),

This body ceased to exist after Russia annexed Crimea and began funding separatist wars in the Donbas region. And we all know this was in response to Putin's puppet, Yanukovych, being overthrown. This "NATO at our doorstep" logic is as asinine as "de-Nazifying Ukraine."
