That is not a fair comparison. The article was saying that false beauty standards are partly a product of celebrities and media portraying their beauty as “real.” Gender dysmorphia is not the same as insecurity, so swapping out the words makes little sense.

I agree it’s wrong to mock people for having work done. In the end, they are victims of the very culture that people struggling with insecurity feel. But they are also the poster children for cosmetic surgery and are helping to perpetuate those beauty standards.
