Well analyzed. I knew he was going for a reaction with this announcement. It makes sense that it is due to declining fortunes in the eastern sector. This will be interesting (in a morbid and scary-as-hell kind of way) to see how the next few months play out.

I suspect that Ukrainian counter-attacks will likely end Russia's occupation, and then (assuming Putin's still in power) there will be a standoff as he threatens to launch a nuke if Ukraine enters Russian soil. But I suspect his cronies will have removed him from office and taken him out back before that prospect ever has a chance of happening.
