Well argued. I see these kind of assumptions (and the resulting panic) on a daily basis. People are freaking out about the development of AI who lack a critical understanding of what it is and what it does. And the anthropomorphic bias is extreme.

They keep intimating to me AI is going to become an “Enfant terrible” based entirely on the notion that it will be like a human (complete with avarice and instinctive desires) but lacking any moral compass or empathy. It’s the kind of stuff terrible sci-fi is based on!
